Plans for a contentious new town development in Devon were unexpectedly removed from the agenda of a council meeting today. The Teignbridge planning committee was set to evaluate proposals for a road within the Wolborough Barton site, located on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.
This road would have been a part of a larger initiative aimed at constructing over 1,200 new homes on greenfields south of the town, referred to as the NA3 project.
However, committee chairman Colin Parker, representing the Lib Dems in Buckland and Milber, announced that the road proposal was withdrawn from discussion after relevant documents were submitted just moments before the meeting.
